MASTER
The Master’s Degree in Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship, organized by the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), a center affiliated to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), is a unique programme created to train new entrepreneurial profiles and specialists in the management of innovation and entrepreneurship in health.
The programme is aimed at training professionals with a clear focus on generating the value and business intrinsically linked to the needs of the health system and the market with creative and innovative thinking that allows them to develop their entrepreneurial skills internally and externally. The programme is aimed at creating new solutions that impact on the health system, based on the generation of knowledge and the development of new products, technologies, and services.
Through an experiential and practical experience, students will gain a global vision and knowledge of innovation systems in health, will learn first-hand about the main global challenges in health and about the diversity of agents involved and the main tools and resources in innovation. At the end of the program, students will have acquired the knowledge and the technical and strategic skills necessary to become comprehensive and transversal innovation managers (Innovation Project Manager), capable of identifying opportunities, promoting the valorization of research results and their transfer to the market.
The master's degree is aimed at graduates in the field of life sciences and health who want to focus or reorient their career in the field of innovation management in health, whether in public or private environments, as well as at researchers and professionals who wish to promote their own project as entrepreneurs and that need to expand their knowledge in management and business development.
The master's degree is also aimed at professionals from other fields such as management and business administration, finance or industry who wish to specialize in the management of clinical innovation and join innovation departments in public institutions (research centers, hospitals) or private companies in the healthcare environment (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices, investment funds, consultancy firms, etc.). The candidate must be able to work cooperatively within multidisciplinary teams and have a creative and entrepreneurial attitude.
